It's a touchscreen and app world, and BlackBerry's do not offer the best touchscreen experiences nor do they have the widest variety of apps.
One reason to get a BlackBerry is push email. You can get a push email plan for you BlackBerry for Php300 per thirty days, which includes access to BlackBerry Messenger and Yahoo! Messenger, AOL Instant Messenger, MSN Messenger and Google Talk. Accessing links to third party sites is subject to additional data charges.
You can get unlimited email on most phones for Php199 to Php299 a month from Smart Communications. Sun Cellular has a Php100 per month unlimited push email plan, but that service is limited to the MyPhone QT7 unit. Neither of these plans offer free access to instant messengers.
The other reason is BlackBerry Social which gives unlimited access to Facebook, MySpace and Twitter for Php300 per thirty days, which includes unlimited use of BlackBerry Messenger and instant messengers. Accessing links to third party sites is subject to additional data charges.
The only spoiler is the inability to subscribe toboth plans simultaneously. You haev to pick on or the other or get the Php1,200 data plan which gives you access to both services plus "unlimited" Internet (some restrictions like video streaming and tethering may apply so read the fine print).
