HTC Desire V - The best dual SIM phone in the Philippine market

The third phone launched by HTC this weekend is the HTC Desire V. The Desire V is a mid-range phone which has a suggested retail price of Php16,990. The phone has decent hardware, equipped with a 4-inch WVGA (480 x 800) display, a 1 GHz Qualcomm processor, 512 MB of RAM, 4 GB of internal storage expandable via a MicroSD card. The phone also run with Android 4.0 out of the box. But what makes this offering unique is that it is a dual SIM phone. It is the only mid-range dual SIM phone in the country.

While the specifications sound decent enough for the price, the 1 GHz Snapdragon Qualcomm S3 processor that you find in the HTC Desire HD, HTC Desire S and the HTC One V. The HTC Desire V is equipped with less powerful a 1 GHz Snapdragon Qualcomm S1. The phone is powerful enough to run Android and should be powerful enough for the average user.

Is it the best choice for the money. It is the most capable dual SIM phone in the market. If you want a dual SIM phone, this is the best one you can get.

Those who want a more capable smartphone should look at the Sony Xperia Sola instead. The Xperia Sola has a dual core processor and sells at the same price range as the HTC Desire V. The Xperia Sola is a better overall choice. Another available option is the LG Optimus L7, which while has nearly the same specifications as the HTC Desire V, has a larger 4.3-inch display.

If you want a dual SIM phone, this is the best one you can get right now. If you do not care for the dual SIM capability, there are better phones in the market.
